Draft pending legal review

This page is maintained by Global Learning Solutions. It is a working draft prepared against the applicable Australian instruments and has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. Highlighted items are facts GLS is confirming before this page is finalised.

Our commitment

Global Learning Solutions is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, speech recognition or reduced-motion settings.

We build for accessibility as a requirement, not an enhancement. Colour contrast, keyboard operability, focus visibility, form labelling and reduced-motion support are tested as part of every release.

Target standard

This website targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

We have self-assessed against WCAG 2.2 Level AA and believe the site substantially conforms. It has not been independently audited. An independent audit date is being confirmed.

What we have implemented

  • A skip-to-content link as the first item reachable by keyboard
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
  • Semantic heading structure with a single main heading per page
  • Labels tied to every form field, with errors announced to screen readers and an error summary that moves focus on a failed submission
  • Keyboard operation of menus, accordions, dialogs, filters and the mobile menu, with Escape to close and focus returned when a dialog closes
  • Text alternatives for images that carry meaning, and images that are purely decorative hidden from assistive technology
  • Colour contrast meeting WCAG AA for text, and status information conveyed by text as well as colour
  • Respect for the operating system reduced-motion setting across all animation
  • Layouts that work at 200% zoom and at 320px width without horizontal scrolling

Known limitations

We publish what we know is not yet right, rather than claim the site is perfect.

  • Some documents available for download, including the capability statement, are PDFs that have not yet been remediated for screen reader use. We can provide the content in an accessible format on request.
  • Photography across the site is being finalised. Alt text is written as each image is added.
  • Any third party embedded content we do not control will be listed here.

We aim to resolve known issues on a rolling release cadence.

Accessible formats on request

If you need any information from this website, including a capability statement, program guide or proposal, in a different format such as accessible Word, large print or plain text, contact us and we will provide it at no cost.

Our programs

Accessibility is not only a website matter. GLS adjusts programs for access needs identified at booking, including differentiated delivery, accessible venues, communication supports and modified materials. Tell us what your cohort needs and the session plan is adapted before delivery, not on the day.
